Dr. Miguel Angel Campos Pardillo: - is a lecturer in the Department of English Studies at the University of Alicante, Spain. He is also a registered interpreter and teaches legal English and translation. Co-author of “El inglés jurídico norteamericano,” also worked closely with Dr. Enrique Alcaraz Varó on other well-known dictionaries. Recent Publications; “Spanish-English Human Rights Dictionary, Spanish- English Dictionary of Real-Estate Terms.” Hon. Matias R. Contreras-Judge, Superior Court of Imperial County (1994-2006). After an outstanding career which began as a Deputy Public Defender in Los Angeles County, Judge Contreras has seen the changes in the profession of court interpreting. He enjoys reading, golf, and target shooting. He now travels throughout the state as a Visiting Judge. Hon. Victor E. Ramirez- Judge, Superior Court of San Diego (1998-2003). Known for his strong, friendly personality and good sense of humor, after an outstanding 24 year career on the Municipal and Superior Court Bench in North County, he is now serving among other things as an Arbitrator, Mediator, Private Judge, and part time Public Interest lawyer. Jorge Vargas- Professor of the University of San Diego- School of Law- Leading expert on Mexican Law with degrees from UNAM and Yale Law School. Prof. Vargas is considered the most prolific author on Mexican Law in the U.S. and Canada. Co-author of “Mexican Law: A Treatise for Legal Practitioners and International Investors.” |
Paul Greenwood- Deputy District Attorney, San Diego. Well-known for prosecuting cases involving elder abuse since 1993. Monika Navarro- Director/Producer/co-writer of the film “Lost Souls (Ánimas Perdidas) .” Co-Produced with ITVS, in association with WGBH and Latino Public Broadcasting, which will air on the PBS series Independent Lens, in February 2010. Monika Navarro has a BFA in Studio Art from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and Tufts University. Mindy Emmons- B. A. in Spanish and M.A. in Linguistics. Is an Instructor for Court Interpreter Orientation, sponsored by the Hawaii Judiciary. Has worked as an interpreter in the California and Federal Courts for over 24 years. L. “Buddy” Strittmatter- California State Court Interpreter, Federal Court Interpreter and Escort Interpreter for the State Department for 25 years. Director of Off-Campus studies at the Inter-American Air Forces Academy, Panama Canal- 1966-69. Chief of Protocol and Liaison to the Inter-American Defense College, in Washington DC- 1969-73. Rogelio Camacho- Ph.D. in Educational Science. Universidad Iberoamericana, México. MBA, University of Irvine, California. Provides Spanish translation, interpretation and cross-cultural training services to American and Mexican Businesses, law enforcement/governmental agencies and news media organizations. |
